Photos from the album of Cpl. Robert Hetrick. The 25th Replacement Depot handled the processing of GI's returning to the United States after the war had ended. The camp was located just NE of Shuri along Rt. 5 near the famous battle sites of Chocolate Drop Hill and Sawtooth Ridge. His photos show some of what life was like at the camp, including his tent which he had fixed up with walls, desk and even a sink.

On 9 October 1945 super typhoon Louise hit Okinawa and destroyed 90% of the military structures on Okinawa and beached and sunk a large number of ships. His photos show the damage to the camp and ships at Buckner Bay. Additional photos he bought on Okinawa showing other military scenes. On 14 June 1946 Cpl. Hetrick left Okinawa on board the USS Sea Cat bound for the United States and his discharge from the Army.
